Associated products, is used to link "related products" or upp-sell products to a product.
3 associated items can be linked via API from your ERP.
Upp-sell items and additional associated items can be linked manually here.
The associated products are displayed on the product page. Depending on theme, the associated products can be displayed below the add-to basket button and the upp-sell products can be displayed below the product description tabs on the product page.
To begin adding or adjusting associations, select the product you wish to manage by pressing “View Associations” on the right hand side of the row.
You are now in “Associated Product Maintenance For” for the product you selected, if there have been any product associated with this item in the past you will be shown a table with all the previously associated items. Here you will also be able to look at the details, change the currently associated product or delete them.
Now we will be looking how to add a new association from scratch.
Above the table to the left hand side you will see a “New“ button, select this.
You will now be provided with a page that allows you to open a drop down menu, this drop down menu will allow you to scroll through all your currently logged products and manually select one to be “associated.
Select the product you wish to be associated and press “create”.
You will now be taken to “Associated Product Maintenance For”, here you will see that the selected product has now been added to the table.
Note - Kits: It is Highly recommended that if a product is part of a “Kit” that the other parts of a products Kit are displayed as the associated items.
