If your products have versions differentiated by colours or patterns our system is able to display a series of swatches on the product pages, allowing for the selection of the same product with altered colours and or patterns through product pages.
The ERP system will have the colour names pulled via the “Get Product API” and stored in “Colours”. Products that colours stored in their Product information will then be assigned to a corresponding colour.
Important: For a colourswatch to display on ODSNet, the colour needs to be defined either by a Hexcode, or an image. If a Hexcode is not inputted into the System the website will not display the colour as these are what the website uses to provide the coloured swatches, images can also be used if the product has a pattern, these will need to be manually inputted into the “Media Library” before they can be assigned to a stored colour.
To create a colour, expand the "Manage Products" section, from the list select “Colours”.
In “Colour Maintenance”, all the colours that have been pulled from the ERP system are laid out in a table format, you will be able to search through them using the provided text field in the top right hand corner. If you want to add or change the Hexcode or pattern attached to a colour, select “Edit” or “New”. “Edit” will be used for this example, both pages options are identical.
“Colour Edit”, here you will be provided with two text fields and a button for editing, “Colour” is where you can enter the colours name, “Colour Code” is where you can enter the colour Hexcode, if using a pattern leave this alone. “Colour pattern image”, you can use this to select an image if you will not be using a Hexcode, or you want to display a pattern. Clicking this will bring up the Media picker window, here you are able to look through images currently stored in “Media Library”. Once you’ve finished the editing select “Create”/ ”New”.
You will now be taken back to the Colour Maintenance Page and the changes will be finalised.
Note: “Colour” / “Colour Name” must be exactly what is used in “Product”, if capitalisation or naming is slightly different these will not be automatically link.
