Admin > Shipping > Areas

Area is only used if you have your own vehicles and is then used to calculate the delivery date based on the customers location, postcode and or country.

“Areas”, here you will begin setting up the areas where you aim for your company to deliver to, you can also set which days you plan to be able to deliver to them. For example, if you input London as a specific area and then set up another area intended for the rest of the county, you could then organise separately which days that each can be delivered to. you may wish for the majority of the country to be deliverable to for 6 days a week Mon-Sat but you may plan to limit delivery in London to a Mon-Fri schedule.

To the left above the table you will see “New”, this is for use when setting up new areas, on the right side of the page is a search field, to use to narrow down the Areas you wish to look at by entering corresponding information.

In the table you will be given a visual briefing of the current settings of an area, this will include the set possible delivery days for each area logged.

Using  “Carrier Assignment Rules” and “Post Code Groups” you can link the Area to a geographic area, postcode and country. Based on the delivery days defined in the Areas, and the customers geographic location linked via postcode group and Carrier Assignment Rules, the platform will work out the next delivery to the customer.
