Admin > Shipping > Carrier Assignment Rules


The Carrier Assignment Rules are used to defined which services are available in which locations, countries and postcode areas. 


“Carrier Assignment Rule Maintenance”, here you will be provided with a table showing all the current rules, above the table to the left you will see “New” this will allow you to create new rules to affect your deliveries, to the right side you will see a search field that will allow you to narrow down the “rules” you see by entering corresponding information. 



The table you will be provided with an overview of the information currently used by each rule; “Description”, “Inc/ Exc Country”, “Inc/ Exc Post Code”, “Available Services”, “Carrier” and “From/ to Weight”.


“Edit Carrier Assignment Rule”, here you will be able to modify a rule. “Carrier”, for this you will need to select from the previously input carriers which carrier will be assigned to this rule. “Description”, enter a name for the rule, this rule may be the default for your customers you may wish to name it along those lines. “Include / Exclude Countries” here you are able to tick all the countries and territories you wish to include or exclude from this rule, you need at least one included or excluded country selected to save. 



In the next section “Include Post Code Groups”, through this you will select the post codes the rule to be associated with, like countries you need to have selected at least one. See "Post Code Groups” for more information.


“Available Services”, here you will be able to select what services you want this rule to be applicable for, What is in the area will be affected by what carrier you have selected, as with each carrier you are able to setup multiple services that they can provide, for more on information see "Services" and "Delivery Charges". At least one service needs to have been selected. 


“From / To Weight” here you will set the maximum and minimum weight parameters for the rule. If you do not want a maximum or minimum applied, enter 0 in From and 9999999 in To.


Finally, "Criteria Search Order No", if multiple assignment rules are applicable for a single area this can be used to define which will be have the priority.
